BURLINGTON, Vt. - Vermont Bucks owner Tim Viens says he will serve as the team's starting kicker while Pittsfield native Carl Ojala recovers from a hamstring injury.

Viens, who also owns the New Hampshire Brigade and Boston Blaze, also serves as the president of the league all three teams play in, the Can-Am Indoor Football League. In the past, Viens, a graduate of South Burlington High School, played college football as a kicker at Glenville State and later with a semi-pro arena football team under current Bucks head coach Ervin Bryson.

The backup behind Viens will be Danny Childs, a former UVM soccer player who graduated in 2016. Both he and Viens expect to see playing time while Carl Ojala recovers.

Ojala is expected to be out for two to three weeks, and missed last week's game against the New Hampshire Brigade. This Saturday, the 3-0 Bucks put their perfect season on the line when they host the Glens Falls Gladiators.
